Pencil vs Camera

This is one of Ben Heine's unique themes. He is a three art concept artist that sprang so wonderful  'Reality Meets Fantasy' series.  Ben Heine is a Belgian painter, illustrator, portraitist, caricaturist and photographer. He was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast and currently lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. He studied graphic arts and sculpture and also has a degree in journalism. You can catch him on his flickr photostream to view more of his creations.

In regards to the Pencil vs. Camera series, he claims the idea came completely by coincedence. While proofreading a letter that he had written, he noticed the television in transparency beyond him in the background. He then thought that it would be a great idea to make something similar in a single image showing two different actions. Thus, Pencil vs. Camera was born.
Heine described his artwork full of miracle, illusion, poetry, and surrealism. Ben said  'Pencil vs Camera' mixed picture, photograph, imagination and reality. Part of his methods enables him to involve his hand emerges in all pictures he catches. I think that's so nice. He did this method to represent the relationship among the display, the artist and the artwork.

He always ensures his sketches in black and white, whereas the colourful photos to maximize the contrast.

This is some of his unique artworks
